What We Do
Our mission is to deliver unwavering, immediate, and on-site support to individuals facing mental health and substance use crises. Through compassionate care and seamless connections to long-term recovery resources, we strive to stabilize crises and initiate the healing process of those we serve.
Why We Do It
Our vision is to transform the landscape of crisis response and create communities where mental health and addiction care are accessible to all, fostering resilience and empowering individuals to thrive.
How We Do It
CalmQuest Foundation, a registered nonprofit and Medi-Cal-certified Community-Based Organization (CBO), and CalmQuest work together to make mental health and substance use care accessible for everyone. The Foundation focuses on public outreach, education, and mobile crisis services for Medi-Cal recipients, while CalmQuest ensures individuals outside the Medi-Cal system receive the same compassionate care. Together, we provide seamless support to those in need, whenever and wherever they need us most.

Services Summary
Step 1.
We respond to crisis calls around the clock and quickly dispatch a crisis response team—two trained professionals with lived experience—directly to your location.
We learn about your situation by collecting important information about the nature of the crisis and any imminent threats that may be present. From the moment we begin talking with you we prioritize ensuring you're in a safe place and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Step 2.
Once the team arrives, we immediately work to stabilize the situation. This may involve de-escalation techniques, providing a safe space, and offering emotional support. We aim to address the urgent issues and begin the healing process right away.
We do our best to prevent unnecessary, more intensive, and potentially traumatic outcomes which can result from involvement of law enforcement and hospitals.

Step 3.
After stabilizing the crisis, we create a safety plan, when appropriate, to avert future crises. This may include connecting you with resources and / or services, and a crisis prevention plan. If you need more specialized care, we’ll personally introduce you to the right people and can even give you a ride there if needed.

We believe in the importance of ongoing care, so our team follows up to check on your progress to ensure you're on a sustained path to recovery and stability.
